What did the Roman’s do for us?
Well maybe not the Roman’s but SELEP. Who we hear many of you say? Well actually they’re pretty important to our region and someone you should be aware of.
The South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SELEP) is one of 38 LEPs, established to “provide the clear vision and strategic leadership to drive sustainable private sector-led growth and job creation in their area”
Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) bring together businesses, councils, universities and other industry players to form partnerships whose geography properly reflects the natural economic areas of England.
Covering East Sussex, Kent and Essex the South East Local Enterprise Partnership is the biggest LEP outside London, helping make it powerful in terms of scale and ambition and local in terms of operation.
They decide what the priorities should be for investment in roads, buildings, and facilities in the area as part of an integrated approach to growth and infrastructure delivery.
Since 2015-16 they have been aiming to inject millions of Government investment into the region to support the delivery of up to 35,000 jobs, 18,000 new homes and over £100 million in private investment over the period to 2021.
We are delighted to welcome Adam Bryan, MD of SELEP who will be telling us exactly who they are, what they do and how that helps businesses and the community in the Hastings area.
