19th April @ 7:15 pm - 9:00 pm
As is our occasional gift, we are throwing a curve ball this month by changing the date and time of our meeting. This is a simple question of when our guest was available, and given he is a pretty notable figure from the Government we’ll go with that.
So we are delighted to confirm our keynote speaker this month will be The Rt Hon Greg Clark Secretary of State for the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and MP for Royal Tunbridge Wells.
As Secretary of State he has overall responsibility for the Department which brings together responsibilities for business, industrial strategy, science, innovation and energy. This includes:
- developing and delivering a comprehensive industrial strategy and leading the government’s relationship with business
- ensuring that the country has secure energy supplies that are reliable, affordable and clean
- ensuring the UK remains at the leading edge of science, research and innovation
- tackling climate change
As well as hearing directly from the minister about what he is doing on these agendas, what this means for us locally and what the post BREXIT implications are; this is a fantastic opportunity to input to the government’s thinking, discuss, challenge and debate their plans.
A light finger buffet will be provided.
