Well for most of us the Summer Holidays are already fading into the distance and to be perfectly honest we were even having second thoughts about attending our September meeting, given the headline presentation was on cybercrime.
However, attend we did and disappointed we were not. A truly entertaining, yet very informative run through of current threats and cyber challenges to our businesses. We never expected to laugh so much about such a dry, yet vitally important topic, especially at 7:30 in the morning.
So well received was the presentation from Barclays UK they have offered to put on a 2 hour workshop for members and their staff. If you are interested in us arranging this then please let us know on email@example.com
Turning to October, we’ll need our passports as we’re heading off to Battle. To tie in with the 950th Anniversary celebrations, Battle Abbey School have generously offered to host the 19th October meeting, to be held in their library, one of the oldest parts of the building.
It is with only the smallest amount of irony that we be celebrating being beaten by the French whilst welcoming Becky Shaw, CEO of East Sussex County Council, to tell us what devolution might mean for 3SC; the three counties of East and West Sussex, plus Surrey.
We also welcome Stephen Burkes, the Sales Director for Sussex Skills Solutions, the joint venture between South Coast College Hastings and Sussex Downs College Eastbourne. Newly appointed Stephen will be talking about this joint venture’s offer and the important changes coming in next year to the apprenticeship scheme.
