The long awaited link road between Hastings and Bexhill has opened today and is estimated to bring £1 billion of economic benefits to the area in the coming years.
Named Combe Valley Way, the new road will also deliver up to 3,000 new jobs and 2,000 new homes.
Chamber Director, Sean Dennis was interviewed by Simon Jenkins from BBC Sussex this morning and commented:
“It is extremely exciting to see the Link road open today; the economic boost it will help generate is the next crucial step in our regeneration journey.”
The road opening follows an announcement made earlier on this week, confirming that Hastings Borough Council have approved the Queensway Link Road as well.
Sean also said:
“This is great news; we need the Queensway Link Road to come into fruition as soon as possible to avoid the bottlenecks we’re seeing in that area.”
